Family life flourishes and our quality of life improves from accessible ball fields, playgrounds, scenic and safe pavilions and well-maintained trails. Since 2012, we have restored and improved the parks system. The Town upgraded ball fields, replaced playground equipment, improved and maintained landscaping, refurbished pavilions and improved parking at several of the parks.
The Town is working on several trail initiatives for both recreational and transit purposes. The Fishkill Hudson River Trail will connect the Town of Wappinger (to the North) to Beacon (to the South). The trail will connect to the Beacon Train Station and is proposed to have a spur with access to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Further, the Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail will connect the Village of Cold Spring to the Beacon Train Station. The Town also submitted a proposal to Metro North Railroad to develop a rail trail along the former Beacon Line.
In addition to providing potential access from Beacon to the Dutchess Rail Trail, we are working with Beacon Mayor Casale to include a rubber-tired trolley to move people from the Beacon train station to the hotels in Fishkill on Route 9. Let’s keep improving the quality of life in Fishkill.
Vote Bob LaColla for Fishkill Supervisor this November 5th. Proven Leadership – A better Fishkill.
